Gadgets to make quilting easier or more perfect, such as 1/4 inch foot, stitch in the ditch foot, rotary cutters, etc. Our ancestors turned out some gorgeous and/or useful creations without those. I think my grandmother used her templates, a pair of scissors and a needle and thread.
