I have four mariners done so far and, having played with the design have realised I don't want a too 'busy' quilt so will be pinching your excellent idea. I googled mariner's quilt images and couldn't get a good idea but found it on this forum (yet again). Will photo and post when done. Thanks for the inspiration. AND I only have to do one more. Result!
