I made this quilt for my ddil's birthday. She loves dragon flies, the turqoise fabric has dragonflies and the backing has very subtle tone on tone dragonflies. I did the quilting on my Janome 6500, the heavy dark turquoise quilting is a result of a twin needle experiment. I kind of like the look of the heavier bobbin thread build up because it's just a small portion of the quilting design. I wouldn't have liked it so much if I had done the twin needle stitching on the entire quilt.
I found the free pattern at spotlight.com.au/inspiration/projects/oriental-garden-quilt.
I renamed it because I thought it looked like the blocks were floating on the turquoise background.
I'm mailing it off to Florida tomorrow, I hope Joanie likes it!
