I do it all of the time in EQ. I figure it paid for itself in the first year by not buying patterns. Most of the blocks convert easily to PP in the program and the rest are easily drawn using their tools.

Another option is to try a free CAD program. DB showed me several that were similar to EQ as far as being able to draw out blocks and put them into a quilt, you can even add borders.

EQ is easier, as it is made to do all of this, but these other programs are a free option :D:D:D
