That is so cool---definitely a previous resident who decided to hang around. We have a ghost---my beloved dog Sammy---if you are sitting in the living room downstairs, you can hear him jumping down off the bed in our bedroom.
I used to work in a Quilt Shop where we live now before it was sold----the building was built in the 1800's and has been many things through the years. In one room on the second floor, which used to be a ballroom, you could occasionally see ladies dressed in victorian dresses and hats milling around. But the third floor was the one. It used to house a live theatre in the day. This was back in the times when they used lanterns (before electricity was installed) They were doing a play and one of the actors long cape touched the lantern and caught fire and he knocked over the lantern in his hast to extinguish his cape. The drapes etc caught fire and there was pretty much a stampede to get to the back stairsto exit the building. Two small children and 1 adult were trampled to death on the stairs. At night, while working on the second floor, you could hear the children running and playing up on the third floor giggling. One night I put a bowl of marbles up there and in a short while, you could hear them rolling around over the floor and clicking against one another. Don't know if they are still there, as it is a restaurant now, but it sure was cool.
