I was at one of the LQS and they had a unique quilt that had just been finished. I noticed it because the look of the fabrics was those of civil war reproduction prints. Then I looked closer and noticed 'blood spots/splatters' on the muslin/light colored fabric. I mentioned it to a worker and she said that the fabric is purposely done that way, called the Missouri Compromise pattern using the 'blood spots/splatters' fabric. I have to admit that those spots are very realistic looking.
