When you've chosen one plan, BEFORE getting it, go to at least two doctors and the nearest hospital and ask to speak to the financial officer. Ask which ones they take and which one pays without much arguing.

My sister was going to leave Blue Shield, which had paid well for her and her late DH's medical bills and both of their hospital stays, but did this before going to the new company's brag and sign event. At that event two women got up and in spite of company reps trying to shut them up, they told of what wasn't paid and how hard it was to get this marvelous company to pay up what they SAID, but the women had not read the fine print.

Sister stayed with Blue Shield, in spite of the higher monthly cost. Please be very, very careful before you take your hard earned money to a new medical carrier.
