I was faced with a quilt top my Mom made before she passed away. It was crooked in many places. I started taking it apart to straighten the seams. My DH said doesnt it mean as much to you that She made it. I put the top back together. My youngest son dearly loves it because she gave it to him. I hand quilted it and so many people just love his quilt. He was right at 2 yrs when she died. That quilt is on the bed he sleeps in when he gets home from Afghanistan in about 14 days. The errors do not matter. The love does. Go for what you think she would want you to do.
