Another friend's husband passed, she got rid of the guns, and now she uses the gun case for quilt storage. The glass door allows them to be viewed easily.
I have heard that you shouldn't store them in a cedar chest. Over time the cedar will cause color damage.
And I've heard you should not store them in plastic bags as the fabrics need to "breathe". They should be rolled or folded with acid free paper and stored out of the sun. Or can roll or fold with a clean old sheet inbetween. And if folded, should periodically be refolded in a different direction to avoid creases and wear at the folds.
