YES! That is correct! When you have them on the design wall you will take 1/2 from one then 1/2 from the next one down and they will be sew together on the ends. Thats how you end up with the rows. It somehow seems easier to understand once you actually have a bunch of hex halves (whole hexs but pinned in the center) laying out in front of you.
