I think for a larger quilt I personally would do the center in the twister then have border colored twisters around it then more of the twisters then more border colored twisters - to break up the twisters in a large quilt. or you could do twister stripes and have the border color twisters between the stripes.
You could also do squares of twister colors so that you have like a 3x3 section of different colored twisters surrounded by border colored twisters all in blocks...
I would say just start doodling and see what you think you might like :)
