I have a community well in our neighborhood and when I first moved here the water was good and inexpensive. Then the well was sold to AquaTexas and all they've done is raise the rates and lower the quality. $49.95 before they tack on the water usage charges and the chlorinator (?) goes haywire every once in a while and bleach comes out of the tap. Legally, there is no maximum limit to how much chlorine is added. I have a filter on my shower and a Brita filter for drinking and cooking. I try not to wash many clothes when it's really strong. The oil and gas companies are doing a lot of fracking around here too so it probably won't be long until we're wishing the only problem we had was too much chlorine.
