I finally gave up and put the bean bag footstools under the table so they can lay close to me. Sometime though the cats will go by and reach up and smack my arm just to let me know they are still there.
They go where they want or you could hear them a mile away with their caterwauling.
Since they are home more than me, they let me in to feed and adore them...they tolerate me and DH.
