I used to sew most of my clothes to save money and to fit better--I am very short. I used to do counted cross-stitch; all my DH ever said was "those sure do take a lot of time". He has always worked hard and provided for our family. He fishes and hunts, plays golf, and rebuilds vehicles at a fraction of the cost of buying one off the lot. He is truly a jack-of-all-trades, one-of-a-kind, well-respected person in our town. He does NOT GET my passion for sewing. I'm also an Avon rep. so my profit subsidizes my habit and totally paid for my Janome 6600 I bought 2 yrs. ago. I love to make seasonal table runners, wall hangings, and lap quilts. Neither of my daughters have any interest in it, but they respect my interest. Both of my sons have absorbed their dad's mediocre acceptance of the hobby I enjoy the most. I am so in awe of all of you ladies who have husbands who take you to fabric stores and encourage you to buy whatever you want. If my DH did that, I would have to say "WHO are YOU, and what have you done with my husband?!" And I'll still keep him. :)
