Thanks for being generous and sharing your techniques. (I had to laugh a bit because my husband uses the "muscle memory" theory all the time to explain things.) Your work is just so precise and wonderful that I cannot imagine doing this freehand. I usually have to draw a pattern on paper, fit it to the quilt, then stitch through the paper OR actually draw the pattern on the fabric. One more step to finishing I would like to do without.
