Try Joanna Fluke. She has a series of light mysteries -- the main character owns a cookie shop and each book has a bunch of recipes - mostly for cookies. I've tried several and they are great cookies and a fun read.
Also, if you've never read Janet Evanovich her numbered series is funny. It's best to read them in order if you can, the libray probably has them. The first one is "One for the Money". The earlier books have some rough langauge but the later ones, not so much. Sometimes I actually laugh out loud.
