In my late 40's I was diagnosed with an allergy to pink meat fish such as salmon, trout, steelhead. I was still able to eat all other seafoods and I love them by the way. Three years ago I almost bit the dust after eating a piece of halibut that my husband had caught that same day. Now the doctor says no more fish anything and even took me off of fish oil pills. No lobster, no crab, not even a little bite as he says it could be fatal. He said it is quite common as we age to develope different food allergies. Good thing I really like elk meat.
