Now, I am trying to recondition an old cabinet that has not been cherished by someone so that I can use the 127 in it, or better yet, the 66 I got . I sure miss that relaxing feeling that treadling gave you as you sewed away.
Reminds me of a time a few years back when visiting my brother in Michigan. He took me into an "antique" store where they had lots of sewing machines. There was an old treadle cabinet turned into a glass-topped table. I made some rude comment about it, not realizing the shop owner was close by. He said the machine didn't work so he thought it would make a nice table. I asked what he did with the sewing machine part, he said he threw it in the trash. I was mortified and spewed a few epithets to him about destroying history, etc. He just walked away. Needless to say I didn't buy any of his too expensive sewing machines. Again, I say, MEN!!!!
