I made a quilts for my niece and nephew out of their dad's t-shirts . I used 2" squares, with every second one being white. I also cut the logos off the shirts and put these in a random pattern of larger squares (4, 6 and 8 inches.)

It looked great, and the pattern didn't detract from the "meaning" of the quilt.
