With fusible web there is no need to turn under the edges. Just fuse it down then stitch! So so very easy! Sometimes if the needle catches the edge of the aplique just right, you will get some little threads that poke out but you can just pick them off.

I did once use a technique that you turned under the edges with the freezer paper technique, then glue basted the pieces down, then machine stitched instead of hand stitching. It worked fine that way, but for me fusible is just so much easier!
