I always cut out a piece of fabric about the size of the area of my ironing board where I iron the most. I do a zigzag stitch around the edgings and then pin in with small safety pins onto my ironing board. When this gets dirty, I can wash or make another one. It saves my ironing board cover - sort seems redundant, but I like doing it this way. - Cynthia
