We hung large bells on a rope and attached to door knob.....He rings it when he has to go out! First, he does it softly...then you tell him you'll be there in a minute. Karen ~ it's so funny that you should mention that. My Bailey rings the bells to go out too! They are like Christmas bells and hang on a red rope tied around the handle of the sliding glass door. He caught on to those rather quickly. I thought maybe if I fed him later, he might sleep through the night, but who knows. The second time we get up, he's hungry!! By the way... your Bailey is beautiful!! :-D :-D
