I live in Florida and quilting with gloves makes my hands very hot. A member of my local quilt guild who does lovely machine quilting suggested I buy a bottle of glycerin (sold at drugstores or Walmart) and put 1 or 2 drops on my fingers and work it in like hand locion. I have no trouble with my fingers sliding on the fabric now when I machine quilt. It leaves no residue on the quilt. Just a suggestion but it works for me.
