The formula for the sew around the edges method is:
size of start squares - .5 x 1.4 - .5
So your 10" blocks would be:
10 -.5 = 9.5 x 1.4 = 13.3 - .5 = 12.8
square to 12.5 and they finish at 12".

I hope this is right!!!!!!
Ceil figured out the math for us.

Mine are 8" blocks
8 -.5 x 1.4 - .5 = 10"
I'm squaring them to 9.5" unfinished.

You will catch up as they go fast once you get into it!
