I was thinking the same thing. I was told that a magnet could damage the computer chip as much as in a computer. We were told in college to not get our Floppy disc (that tells how long ago they told me) near a magnet because it would erase the contents or make it not usable. I found out the hard way before they told me.

Like Ramona said, maybe they are more protected now. I hope so.
