Salvage - yes yes yes! I would put a black border on the top and bottom the same size as those on the side. Then I would bind with pink on the black sides and black binding upon the pink side just to make it very unique. Square it up before binding and no one will notice with its vivid theme colors. By the way, I am a breast cancer survivor and I cannot imagine anyone not loving this item. Congrats.
