I like Gutermann (?sp), Aurfil, any Egyptian cotton.
Each of us has our own preference and some have machines that perfer one over the other...
But my one suggestion would be...don't waste money on the "cheap" thread that are often found in bulk near the register. As with most items, "you get what you pay for."
