I've still got about 6 sets of the pre-cut squares. One would have won the ugly contest, lol. There are about 50 squares per set and I use 35 for the personal quilts,
So does that mean you have about 300 more of these bright squares to work with? The black and turquoise are just great, but if you wanted to soften the look how about picking out 2 shades of the lavander?
I tend to go for the brighter colors myself.
I did start on the ugly squares a while ago. Started thinking about what to do with them. Another thing I inherited was a bunch of 2" strips in a lavender---------good match for the uglys. So I sewed two together to get a 3.5" strip and I'm using only the lavender for the "turning 20" block. Shows up as a lot of lavender.
I'll look for some of the others. One set is purple and a matching set is turquoise (tropical prints) that I think I'll use as half square triangles. And another 2 sets are an ugly blue with black tropical and a matching dark red with black tropical. May do a D9P with them, favoring the red.
