I tried using Dual Duty white all purpose and it pulls up from the bottom bobbin If I use a different color in the top it still pulls up tightly. I also have adjusted the tension and it doesn't help. I have been using light brown for both top and bottom thread and no problems at all and it is Dual Duty also.
I only found out last week that my Janome 6600 doesn't like 2 different weights of thread at the same time. Was just a quick repair job but the top thread wouldn't pull the bobbin thread at all. Both were 100% cotton but different weights. The more a machine does the more finicky they can be.
