I treat a new puppy like a toddler.....If I can not have them right in my sight, they are crated in some way. One word of caution on crating...do NOT use it as a punishment. I leave a blankie in there and it stays by her food and water even now....she gets into it anytime she wants to be alone. :D Also, just like a toddler.....after we nap, eat or play....we gotta go potty :D
