Thanks for any time you can give to clarifying this as it sounds like a good idea.

I was thinking it might be like this?
1.) take fabric and fold so wrong sides are together with fold on left side and raw edges matching on right side.
2.) sew a zigzag stitch starting at top right on the right side raw edges, barely catching on the far right side.
3) refold so right side is down and zig-zag stitch is in the center with right and left side meeting in the center ( basically both raw edges are in the center with the zigzag stitch holding it together ).
4) bring left side over right side and press into place.
5) place binding around quilt so that zigzag seam inside tape is facing away from quilt, pin then sew to quilt

Does that make sense or sound right???
My machine is in the shop right now so I can't make a sample to take pictures of and post.
