I just love Sharon Schamber's technique of using Elmer's School Glue to prepare binding - here is the You Tube link that describes it:

My improvement: I use the Elmer's School Glue STICK!! I just run the stick along the inside edge of the folded back binding strip and heat press. The strips will hold until I get around to sewing along the fold line!!
