You ladies rock!
I think I might try a flannel backing. I fine with a heavy quilt.

My favorite quilt is truly a utility quilt my Grandmother made when my father retired from the army. My grandmother took a bunch of scraps and used an army blanket as batting. No pattern, nothing matched the scraps were sewn in to rows the scraps were different lengths. I recognize some dress material and curtains and I think there are some of my father’s uniform shirts in there. The backing was again scraps, part of a curtain and a few blocks of different colors. Lots of love in that think and it was ugly but we fought over who got to sleep under it. No heat in the guest room. We also fought over who got to sleep on the floor in the Hallway (near the space heater). :-o

Thanks for your responses. As always the folks on this forum are wonderfully helpful.
