I use a small teaspoon that I slip under the pin when closing it, keeps me from putting a ridge in my fingernail. I keep the spoon and a tweezer in the box I keep my pins it so it's always handy when I need it. I use the tweezer to pull out loose threads poking out of seams. May in Jersey
