You are fortunate that you are clever enough to whip up a quilt without a pattern, when I was a beginner I couldn't and the YBR was my introduction to FQs and their uses, I know of many many quilters who have made the YBR and made some lovely quilts in the process.

Although I am not a lover of the TT pattern one of my class did the most glorious quilt using a selection of batiks and the TT pattern, which were perfect for it, we all have our own likes n dislikes and these patterns deserve to be on a quilters list IMO :thumbup:
