I lived there from Jan 1979 to June 1982. We were there when they built the Salvadore Dali Museum on 4th St and when the northbound span of the Skyway fell. My favorite was the Cardinals' spring baseball games, and the Kids and Cubs (senior baseball team). Teapot City was a Christmas must. The ship The Bounty was still a museum piece out on the pier and you could fish from the pier. Also, we were there when the Blackthorn and the Capricorn collided in the bay. It was such a disaster. I hear Tampa doesn't do the Bastille Day anylonger. It was a great time. We use to go to Ft DeSoto Park and walk the sandbars when the tide was out and we harvested sanddollars. Kids and I made great framed items for gifts and to sell. Loved it there. Oh btw, hey, my name is Ruth and I love this board and all the good people here. You'll love it.

Blessings
