You guys are making me hungry! I posted this "Go To" a while ago:
The Meal*
1 lb. stew meat
1 package dry onion soup mix
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 small can sliced mushrooms, undrained
Place all ingredients into casserole dish. Cover. Bake 3 hours at 325 degrees. Serve over egg noodles, brown rice, pasta, mashed potatoes, etc. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.
*My dear grandma called this dish "The Meal." I think it was her favorite! You can use low sodium, low fat versions for the soups and I like it with sliced fresh mushrooms. Just add a little more liquid if using fresh.
