It wasn't too confusing. I have a huge living room floor (as you can see in the picture) and claimed it for a few days. I laid out the quilt, picked up all the middle pieces of the block, sewed them, laid them back out, then attached to the top and bottom of the block, then laid them back out, etc. The big thing that saved me was laying them out every single time, since I have a bad habit of assuming I didn't mix anything up and chaos ensuing :D
