I think it really boils down to personal preference.
As long as you're cutting bias binding, the width shouldn't really make a difference. Technically, it shouldn't be any harder to apply on the curves than on a regular quilt, and .
Well, except for those inside miters. A of them. All around the whole quilt. ;-)
Ahhh, don't cut those curves off. Here's a really good guide to making inside miters:
