I have this really interesting old wooden sewing chair my sister gave me - there is a bentwood curved piece on the back that is positioned such that it makes you sit up straight when you sew. It really helps keep me from back strain. I did add a pillow for a butt cushion. Not as pretty as the cane work, but it makes it just the right height.
