I haven't tried it yet, but I have seen photos of quilts done with strips. Cut the strip 2 1/2" or 3" by WOF and sew together. They look quite nice when done and since there isn't a lot of cutting involved, it should go rather fast. I find most patterns go quickly when I strip piece. I have made 24 log cabin blocks in the past 2 days and haven't been working steady on them at all.
Not sure what your skill level is or what size you are looking for but I find another fast and easy quilt is the brick pattern. Show pics when you get them done, please. Good luck! I am sure many others will have even more suggestions. :)
