Have you considered the "two" color patterns? such as night & day by Eleanor Burns or Oriens Star also by Eleanor Burns-it uses just a smidgeon of white. Good luck. I would guess the question is how much work do you want to put into it. I personally would not use D9P. I do like the idea of batiks. Have fun!
