Have to confess, I keep worms in the house. They are quiet and, if things are going well, there is no smell. Went to a class at the County Extension Office - they gave you a plastic bin set up as described in a post here and the worms. If it gets too wet, the worms will try to get out otherwise they stay buried. They supposedly get enough oxygen just by your taking off the lid to feed them. Worms do not like light (or composting worms don't) so I have no idea what kind of worms are in the Worm Farm package.
