This quilt is from Bonnie Hunter's book called Adventures With Leaders & Enders. The pattern is "Mad City Mama." I modified the pattern to use the Cotton Theory method. This is the third quilt I have made and it took me 4 months to complete. It contains more than 4,100 pieces, and is 106" x 90" -- bigger than I planned for it to be. How did it grow?!

I made this for my mother-in-law. I used lots of fat quarters and scraps from my stash, and the only fabric I purchased were the various purples (MIL's favorite color). After I got started on the quilt, MIL sent me a box of scraps that had been in her garage for 27 years. The fabric pieces had belonged to her own mother who died in 1983. Aslee was a quilter, and I used many of the fabric scraps she left behind in this scrappy quilt.

Each block is 15" and has 137 pieces.

Back of the quilt shows I'm learning how to stipple on my domestic machine.

The Quilt Inspector approves.
