My cherry squares are now almost a quilt! "Cherry Surprise" is basted and pinned, and now I have to start the quilting part. Ugh. This stage is always tedious to me. At least this one will be fun to look at while I quilt it. (I am going to do it by hand.)

It ended up bigger than I originally intended at 92" x 103", so I am going to be quilting for a looooong time. I am going to quilt little cherries into the white border using green and red thread, but other than that I don't know how I'll quilt it. It's tricky because of the back. Any suggestions are appreciated! Please keep in mind that I am not an expert and have just started hand quilting and have only done in the ditch so far, so nothing too hard. Maybe a grid using blue painters tape to mark the lines, about 2" apart? I could handle that I think.

And here is the surprise part! This is the back.
