Two weeks ago, I went to get a cortisone shot in my left hip for arthritis. On the way home, I noticed that my left leg was numb from the hip to my ankle! I called the dr. and he said it was not unusual, and it would go away, hopefully that day. I called my husband when I got home to come help me get out of the truck and into the house, since I couldn't feel my leg. It was the weirdest feeling, when I tried to stand, my leg felt like jello and I couldn't stand. As soon as I lifted my right foot, my left leg buckled and down I went, screaming in pain. My poor husband helped me (with much pain and difficulty) back into the truck and took me to the hospital. Hamstring strain in my right leg. Wow, have heard about this kind of injury but had no idea how painful it is. They took xrays (all good), gave me a shot of demerol and kept me till my left leg "thawed" out and I could stand and walk. I can sit in the recliner comfortably because leaning back puts no pressure on my hamstring, but I can't sit on a regular chair without pain. I tried sitting on my sewing chair, (well padded office chair) but after a half hour, I had to leave the sewing room and take a vicodin. So, I've not done any piecing and it's driving me crazy. I spend all day every day in the recliner, on the computer, watching tv and doing a little hand quilting. But I want to get back to the quilt I was piecing!!! arrrrrrrrghhhhhhh!!!!
