I want to thank you for sharing this story. I have seen the statue and it is impressive. My grandfather served in both WWI and WWII, the first one as a young enlisted boy and the second one as an officer in the Army. The memorials in Washington DC are amazing and a tribute to all who served. The story is right about never forgetting the ones who didn't come back.
