Tell me about it - I posted pics on facebook and at least four of my 'gamer friends' immediately wanted one of their own. I haven't decided yet if I'm going to do it...heh, got lots of other fun stuff to work on!
If you can sell them for a reasonable amount, or at least get them to pay for material, that could work. After I did the Metroid one in my Avatar, everyone wanted one, until I told them the cost and then suddenly everyone was good :)
