Kathie, the more research I do the more I think Billy nailed it in the first place. Singer just used whatever clamp they wanted to, or maybe people had a choice that bought the 66 brand new on which system they wanted? Your machine probably came with the side clamp. Anyway be happy, as that is the desirable clamp -- much easier to get new feet to fit!
