What an awful thing to happen! Your quilt is stunning! Oh, I feel sick for you, the hours, the work, the creativity invested! Keep working with UPS, don't accept the quick "too bad, so sad" baloney you are getting. Your quilt is a masterpiece. I also think that you should put it on the news and any lost quilt sites, so that if someone sees it, it might be returned to you. We should all print this out and take a file of lost quilt photos to shows and expos. As sick as it is, it may have been stolen, and might end up on eBay, or at a show, raffle or auction.
